Be Prepared To Learn Chinese

Because it looks like our wonderful new administration is granting the Chinese eminent domain as collateral for US debts. Yea you read that right. That means when we can no longer pay for all this massive spending the Chinese can call in the loans and take our land.

The thought that American citizens and businesses could lose their land as a means of payment is downright scary. I highly doubt ANY American citizen would have voted for Obama if they knew this was coming down the pike.

LiveLeak.com has the story and appears to have confirmation from both governments.

The written agreement was brought to Beijing by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and was formalized and agreed-to during her recent trip to China.

This means that in the event the US Government defaults on its financial obligations to China, the Communist Government of China would be permitted to physically take -- inside the USA -- land, buildings, factories, perhaps even entire cities - to satisfy the financial obligations of the US government.

Put simply, the feds have now actually mortgaged the physical land and property of all citizens and businesses in the United States. They have given to a foreign power, their Constitutional power to "take" all of our property, as actual collateral for continued Chinese funding of US deficit spending and the continued carrying of US national debt.

What is amazing is that the administration would actually trust the chinese to not call in the debt. Seriously, if anybody in the chinese government get the bright idea that expansionism is a cool thing to do we are up shit creek.

Forget talking about socialism, we might end up half owned by communism before this is all over with. The irony is that China has discovered the beauty of capitalism in the last few years and yet our current government wants to get rid of it. What better way than to just hand it over?

How about that for some serious change you can count on? "Hope" you like losing your land to foreigners with the written authority of the U.S. government.

UPDATE: Seems the story originated here which also mentions this Bloomberg story citing the chinese wanting guarantees on the debt. It also suggests that the states knew this was coming with the recent activity of 11 or so states declaring their sovereignty.

If they even tried we would just go to war with them, easy

robert on 2009-02-27 17:10:50

It would be anything but easy. They have the largest standing army in the world if I recall, not to mention nuclear capability. And being communist they just might get help from Russia and all bets are off then. It would be a world war like no other in a hurry.

However, I suppose a situation like Red Dawn might arise. The government gives land to China, they move in, America revolts and fights both the chinese and Obama's civilian security force

harleyrock on 2009-02-28 03:00:22

obama and his amy will make sure barracks are all set up for these commie armies---obama is conquering America

sadie on 2009-02-28 09:52:49

Robert,

Where do u live? I just moved to Nevada, and we are loaded with Chinese and Russians. I have never seen so many!

America as we new it is disappearing fast.

Very sad.

Sadie

robert on 2009-02-28 21:36:39

There are a lot of commanders out there that would disagree with you. You can only do so much with air power. As I've heard it said, "air power won't win a war". having said that, it will surely put a hurting on the enemy.

Tannim on 2009-02-28 18:15:58

Foot soldiers don't mean much in warfare anymore. One Apache squadron can turn an armored brigade into junk, and so can a squadron of F-15s carrying J-SOWs. They lack the ability to invade even Taiwan, so they aren't going to invade here, unless we really screw up and let them in.

Now you know why cyberwarfare, air superiority, and such are so important.

Laser on 2009-02-27 19:46:32

I would rather be occupied by the Chinese than the liberal Dems and Obama.

actually what's the difference, Bill?

robert on 2009-02-27 22:25:05

Bill? :)

Bill Dupray on 2009-02-27 22:30:30

Hey pal, he was talking to me.

To answer the question, the only difference is that the Chinese are, on average, shorter.

laser on 2009-02-28 21:12:39

lol! Actually, I would gladly sell Massachusetts to the Chinese. Maybe they would get rid of Barney Frank and John Kerry. Wow! Wouldn't that be the best deal?

(sigh)

avery on 2009-03-01 14:07:30

Hmm that might actually make MA a good place to do business....

CKA in Red State USA on 2009-02-27 20:27:13

This seems so outlandish -- in the vein of the Big Lie of Hitler and Obama -- that it seems unbelievable.

Truly.

If Obama continues much further and faster on this path, he will create a revolt which neither he nor his robots can imagine.

Bill Dupray on 2009-02-27 22:29:07

Last line - Dead on accurate my friend.

Robert Garding on 2009-02-28 11:16:05

Oh my, we do have to be asleep at the wheel now. Obama is selling the Chinese this country and it seems that the media doesn't care......and because of that, I bet 95% of the people, probably the ones that are counting on his so called tax cut does not know anything about this. I have said this before my friends, we are in trouble with this pretender to the presidency Barack Obama.

-Robert-

immigrant1640 on 2009-02-28 11:41:44

You're citing something from Hal Turner? Ick. Do we all know who Hal Turner is? The Bloomberg story does specify the Chicoms want some guarantees, but Hal Turner is making his usual hyperbolic racist stretch to justify some weird White Supremacist feeding frenzy, as usual. Don't carry water for this guy if you really want to support America.

MarkH on 2009-02-28 12:14:41

If this is true then we have a right and an obligation to impeach.

How do we begin?

ASF on 2009-02-28 12:35:37

I will wait for more confirmation before I lose my temper over this story. However, I seem to be free this afternoon - feels like a good time to get a new AR-15 and stock up on some more ammo. I literally designed and built my home - I'd like to see someone try the emminent domain thing with me.

Tony T on 2009-02-28 13:09:58

Hang on a second - I am not saying that this is false...but assigning a right like the power of eminent domain would have such far-reaching implications that I'd like another source to confirm the unnamed "embassy official's" story.

Let me begin by saying that I am a conservative, and think that eminent domain (ED) is a horrible thing.

Governments use ED to take property for a legitimate governmental purpose - a school, hospital or utility right of way. Since the abominable Kelo decision, what constitutes a legitimate purpose has been watered down to justify "private" (as opposed to governmental) takings, but I am not sure that would allow the Chinese to do what the author suggests. Of course, the government has been know to take real property and sell it to satisfy an owner's outstanding tax burden, but that's not really what is going on here.

Okay, so no ED and no tax sale. What are we left with? Simple loan default and surrender of the security on the loan.

Let's say that the U.S. defaults on the paper they crammed down China's throat. It certainly seems plausible that federal lands could have been used to secure the paper sold to China, and that's what China could demand if the U.S. defaults. However, aren't the securities backed by a future payout and not something tangible like land? If there has been such a paradigm shift, it would be a huge problem for the U.S.

pythagoras on 2009-02-28 15:29:00

I am now hearing that this story may possibly NOT be true. However the reason it is so frightening is because it is exactly the sort of thing Obama would do if he was allowed to. This story is totally believable...it's 'in character.'

It is also quite possible that Obama actually discussed this (horrid) idea of using Eminent Domain of US land and assets in exchange for Chinese financing of Obama'sgovernment pork-a-thon recently with government bigwigs and was overheard doing so at which point the parties who acted as a fly-on-the-wall reported it as news to bloggers who then took it seriously as real news.

One thing is for certain at this point--we must watch every move made by Obama very carefully. It is only a matter of time before he actually attempts to do something as dangerous as this to our national security. It would not be bad idea either to investigate the possibility of ensuring that any international eminent domain compacts such as the one in this "news" story between the Obama Administration and China be (or as the case may be remain) outlawed.

Obama is probably not a legal citizen of the United States. If he is able to destroy America by legal means he would (and most likely wouldn't lose any sleep over doing so either). After a (possible) Communism-induced demise of America, Barry Soetoro (Or whatever the hell his real name is) would likely board a private plane for Indonesia (or Kenya or whatever third world hellhole he learned his third world corruption tactics from).

teresa on 2009-03-01 12:56:00

I really like the 7.62 mm justice thing @ the end of the article. I didn't even click on it yet. I was eager to check out the comments.

By the way, I need a couple thousand rounds 7.62. Any ideas?

robert on 2009-03-01 15:15:36

Stand in line, ammunition across the country sells out quickly.

avery on 2009-03-01 14:12:30

Hopefully it will prove untrue. There is probably no need for me to tell anyone reading here that the US sits atop vast physical resources that it has never exploited. Others certainly would be more than willing to exploit those resources. I would be most wroth if we had offshore drilling down the Pacific coast - by the Chinese.

Bradley on 2009-03-02 10:05:39

I can't believe you people believe that stuff.

An UPDATE: 31 STATES PREPARE TO DECLARE SOVEREIGNTY

For more a map, details and information:

www.mrstep.com/politics/az-wa-mo-nh-ok-claiming-sovereignty/

Some interesting Coincidences?

First, let's look at the new Omnibus Bill.

H.R. 1105 — Omnibus Appropriations Act, 2009, February 24, 2009, Managers: McGovern / Session

"To make in order and provide the appropriate waivers for amendment #6, offered by Rep. Goodlatte (R-VA), which would prevent funds in the bill from being used to exercise the power of eminent domain to take private property from a private entity and give that property to another private entity, while exempting certain enumerated uses, such as highways, prisons, public utilities, and in cases of national emergencies or national disasters declared by the President."

The motion was defeated 4 to 7

http://rules-republicans.house.gov/ShortTopics/Read.aspx ?ID=237

Then let's look at some "tour groups" (how sweet) coming to America,.

A growing number of Chinese are joining tours organized especially for investors who want to take advantage of slumping U.S. real estate prices amid a financial crisis. While China’s ultra-rich have been buying property in the U.S. for years, the buying tours are new, made attractive by still-rising Chinese income levels and American real estate prices that have been falling for two and a half years.

More than 100 Chinese buyers have joined such tours since late 2008. The home-buying opportunities mirror a larger trend. Cash-rich Chinese companies are looking to buy resources made suddenly cheaper by the downturn or companies suffering under the global debt meltdown.

http://streetsideinvestor.com/index.php/2009/02/19/wealthy-chinese-buying-us-foreclosed-property/

"On February 11, Bloomberg Business News reported that China was seeking "guarantees" for its US Government debt, and it now appears they got it. Well placed senior sources at the US Embassy in Beijing CONFIRM the formal written agreement was delivered by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during her recent trip to China."

I'm just wondering. In light of these things, would people STILL think that article about China, Hillary and Eminent Domain is completely baseless?

Digian on 2009-03-03 02:03:04

WHERE IS THE PROOF THAT .......

Hillary Clinton had the document signed and agreed to in China on her trip ???

SHOW US THAT PROOF !!

  • Rep. Altmire confirms: NO

Nancy has about run out of "yes" votes: Congressman Jason Altmire will vote against the latest version of health care reform when the U.S. House of Representatives votes on the bill this weekend. Altmire confirmed that he has decided to vote no in a telephone conversation with KDKA Political Editor Jon Delano. The McCandless Democrat is expected to post a statement on his website later today.

  • JIP: Obama Approval Under Disapproval on RCP

Tough to be Barry: Real Clear Politics, or RCP for short, is a news site that averages approval/disapproval polls together, forming a very non-partisan system. For the last year and change, I have closely watched the approval of the President. Slowly but surely, it kept going lower and lower and lower. The President was at his peak on January 29, 2009 with an approval of 63.5 and a disapproval of only 19.3, a 44.2% difference. From the beginning of March to the end of June, Obama's approval/disapproval held moderately steady. But then it happened. The President began calling for radical reforms to the American Health Care System. While reform is needed, this "change" that the President was peddling did not sit well with the American people.

  • Will House recon bill surive intact in Senate? ...

Very clear. Toast: FTA: Senate Budget Chairman Kent Conrad (D-N.D.) said Thursday that it is unlikely the Senate will be able to pass a health care reconciliation bill unchanged from what the House passes. Conrad said the Senate Parliamentarian has declined to make rulings on several issues in the bill that Republicans are likely to challenge under the “Byrd rule.” That rule states that, among other things, every provision of a budget reconciliation bill must have a budget impact and cannot be “extraneous.” “Although we’ve spent many, many hours with the Parliamentarian, some things he has not yet rendered a conclusion” on, Conrad said. “He wants to hear from both sides before he does.” Conrad continued: “Do I expect there will be some additional Byrd rule challenges that will be upheld? Yeah. I do.”

  • Another flip from Yes to No: Rep. Michael Arcur...

Rep. Mike Arcuri (D., N.Y.), a sophomore who had a tough go of it in 2008, will vote nay on Obamacare, both on the House floor and in the Rules Committee. The Rules vote is symbolic, since Democrats outnumber Republicans there two-to-one. But the floor vote could go either way. It is obviously a blow to Pelosi's chances of hitting 216.

Thanks to Avery for the heads-up on today's atrocity rolling off Capitol Hill.
Ranking Republican Paul Ryan responds to an NRO query about the news this morning: “The Congressional Budget Office has confirmed that there is currently no official cost estimate. Yet House Democrats are touting to the press — and spinning for partisan gain — numbers that have not been released and are impossible to confirm.
Boy, a final official number that came in over a trillion bucks would really bite them in the a**.

  • McCain's lead over Hayworth shrinks to 7

Johnny Mac is also under the all-important 50% support level.
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely Arizona GOP Primary voters shows McCain ahead 48% to 41%. Three percent (3%) favor another candidate, and eight percent (8%) are undecided. Following the announcement that Sarah Palin would campaign for his reelection, McCain opened up a 53% to 31% lead over Hayworth in January. The two men were in a near tie in November.
By my math, McCain's lead shrunk from 21 to 7 in two months. Hmmm.

  • CBO: Obamacare costs $940 billion

And in the world of Washington speak, somehow spending that much cash actually lowers the deficit by $130 billion. I have a better idea. How about we just not spend $940 billion in the first place? After all, if you are trying to trim your budget, you don't go buying a Lamborghini on a credit card. One more thing. Isn't it funny how CBO can score a bill without an actual bill. Hmmm . . .

  • USA Today editors: The Slaughter Rule is a 'gim...

Keep in mind USA Today wholeheartedly supports this health care takeover, but even they are disturbed by "deeming" a bill passed without a vote in the House.
[House] leaders are mulling a rule that would allow the chamber to "deem" the Senate's version of health legislation as passed, without actually having to vote on it. Imagine how useful this trick would be in daily life. You could make unpopular decisions without actually appearing to make them. That excruciating Thanksgiving dinner at your brother-in-law's? You "deemed" that you attended. . . . It's understandable that some House Democrats wouldn't want to cast a direct vote on the Senate bill . . . before moving to change it. But a procedure this transparently gimmicky just adds to the cynicism surrounding the bill and opens it up to unnecessary court challenges.

  • Biden bombs at Correspondents' Dinner

Biden is funnier when he isn't trying to be funny. This stuff is so lame, he should have gotten the hook. More, if you can stand them, at the link. - "I just got back from five days in the Middle East. It's great to be back to a place where a boom in housing construction is a good thing." - "Liz Cheney is here tonight. Liz has been on a tear. Now she's questioning if Tom Brady is a Patriot." Meh, said the crowd. "What the hell, it was worth a try." - On moving to Washington: "I voted for public housing all my career -- never realized how good it actually is!"

Sure, it's within the margin of error, but Campbell is leading. The pollster moves the race to "toss-up."
In hypothetical match ups with Sen. Barbara Boxer (D) in the general election, Campbell leads Boxer, 44% to 43%, while Boxer leads Fiorina, 45% to 44%, and tops DeVore, 45% to 41%. Both findings are within the survey's margin of error.
